clockwork orange vs singing in the rain

Well first of all Clockwork Orange is pretty disturbing and yet interesting. Im not really sure why the main characters Alex sing such a beautiful song as "Singing in the Rain", while he rapes a woman and beats her husband but hey maybe it was hes way of dealing with the Vietnam War. Crazy that the only American pop song he know is a musical and then he just hums classical music. In a lot of ways the movies seems to be about what goes around comes around. The war showed pretty much what was going out in the war in more of a plot line.
